The long-haired Yorkshire Terrier is a small dog that belongs to the toy dog category. Though their personality would depend on how they are trained, Yorkies are generally confident, independent and courageous. They usually get along well with other dogs but are also bold enough to challenge larger dogs without fear.

Known widely as strong, alert, agile, and full of life, the German Shepherd has a fearless personality and willingness to protect its den and its pack. This characteristic of the German Shepherd makes it a favorite breed to train to become guide dogs for blind people, for guarding and police work, and as members of search and rescue teams. Though generally big and fearsome in appearance, German Shepherds are very loyal and loving, making them the third most popular dog breed in the United States in terms of ownership registration.

Golden Retrievers are friendly, reliable and trustworthy breed of dogs. Their gentle disposition towards man and other animals and their eagerness to please makes them an excellent household pet choice. They also excellently get along with children. Golden retrievers historically bred to retrieve shot waterfowl during hunting games. Their love for retrieving makes them eager companions in playing fetch, especially if there is water involved.
